JERUSALEM, March 19 (Xinhua) — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement on Thursday that its air force, acting on intelligence, carried out strikes on Iranian naval infrastructure in the Caspian Sea.

The IDF statement said the March 18 strikes included targets at an Iranian naval port and base facilities housing dozens of warships, including missile ships and patrol boats.

Naval vessels, including missile ships, support vessels, boats and patrol ships, were hit, the IDF said.

The port's command center, from which the Iranian Navy manages naval operations in the Caspian Sea, and a central infrastructure facility used for ship repair and maintenance were also hit, the statement said.
