Beijing, March 18 (Xinhua) — The annual Zhongguancun Forum (ZGC Forum) will be held in Beijing from March 25 to 29. This year's theme is "Deepening the Integration of Technological and Industrial Innovation," Vice Minister of Science and Technology Lin Xin announced on Wednesday.
More than 1,000 guests from over 100 countries and regions are expected to attend the forum, which will feature more than 100 events, Lin Xin said at a press conference.
The Zhongguancun 2026 Forum has four distinctive features. First, it will highlight the Chinese capital's efforts to build an international science and technology innovation hub by holding forums and announcing relevant policies to deepen coordination between Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei Province in northern China, said Lin Xin.
According to her, the forum will also highlight the importance of deep integration of technological and industrial innovations, with a focus on cutting-edge areas such as 6G, brain-computer interface, and cell and gene therapy.
Furthermore, a distinctive feature of the upcoming forum will be the integrated development of education, science and technology, as well as human resources.
Lin Xin added that this year's forum will place particular emphasis on openness and high-level cooperation in science and technology.
The organizers of the upcoming forum are the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the All-China Society for Science and Technology, and the Beijing Municipal Government.
Established in 2007, the Zhongguancun Forum has evolved over the years into a global, comprehensive, open, and high-level international event aimed at promoting global innovation in science and technology.
