Moscow participated in a strategic session on the development of the Golden Ring tourist route, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko. The Chairman of the Moscow Tourism Committee Evgeny Kozlov summarized the industry's performance for 2025 and spoke about successful cooperation with other regions in developing this tourism destination.

"To promote holidays in our country among Russian and international tourists, Moscow, in close collaboration with its partners, has developed over 35 unique routes along the Golden Ring, which are available in a special section of the same name on the Russpass service. These include over 350 points of interest: cultural and historical sites, accommodations, dining options, and shops selling local products. In the future, we will continue to develop new opportunities for travel across our country together with our colleagues from other regions of the Russian Federation," noted Evgeny Kozlov.

In addition, Russpass and the School of Design of the National Research University Higher School of Economics organized creative competition The "Golden Ring Travel Collection" is dedicated to the route's upcoming anniversary: it will turn 60 in 2027. The competition has two categories: "Painted Postcard" and "Photo." Russian citizens over 18 are eligible to participate. The jury will include professional artists, photographers, art historians, and representatives of tourism authorities in the regions along the route. Four winners will be selected in each category: three by the jury and one by popular vote.

A cooperation agreement on the development of the Golden Ring tourist route was also signed during the strategic session. The document marks the second stage of the program for its development and renewal, launched in November 2024. To date, Moscow has entered into a partnership with the Vladimir, Ivanovo, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, and Tver regions, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the Center for Strategic Research Foundation, and the Russian Orthodox Church Commission for the Development of Pilgrimage and the Return of Relics.

The parties to the agreement commit to systematically developing the route. Cooperation entails the exchange of experience, mutual information support, development of industry human resources, and the implementation of programs aimed at creating and promoting satellite routes to the Golden Ring, including water routes and pilgrimage routes.
