WASHINGTON, March 17 (Xinhua) — US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Washington is "not ready" to end the conflict with Iran, which is now entering its third week.

"We're not ready to leave yet, but we will leave in the near future," the American president told reporters at the White House.

Asked whether the White House had a "day-one" plan for conflict with Iran, Trump did not provide details, repeating his assertion that Iran has been "defeated on all fronts" since the United States and Israel launched large-scale attacks on Iran on February 28.

He said it would take Iran a decade to recover.

D. Trump told reporters that if he sends American ground troops to Iran, he is not afraid that this could turn into another Vietnam for the United States. –0–
