Moscow, March 14 (Xinhua) — Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 280 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over Russian regions in 10 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement released Saturday evening.
The statement noted that on Saturday, from 11:00 to 21:00 Moscow time, air defense alert systems intercepted and destroyed 280 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the Bryansk, Kaluga, Belgorod, Tver, Smolensk, and Kursk regions, the Krasnodar Territory, and the Moscow region.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin also reported on social media that only 47 drones flying toward Moscow were shot down on Saturday. He added that emergency services are working at the debris site.
