BEIJING, March 13 (Xinhua) — Apple announced Friday that it will reduce fees for in-app purchases on the App Store in mainland China starting March 15, 2026.
Following negotiations with Chinese regulators, Apple will reduce commission rates for mobile and tablet operating systems (iOS, iPadOS) in the App Store in China.
The standard commission rate for in-app purchases and paid apps will be reduced from the current 30% to 25%.
Under the App Store Small Business Program and Mini Apps Partner Program, fees for qualifying in-app purchases and fees for auto-renewing subscriptions after the first year will be reduced from the current 15% to 12%.
These commission rate changes are expected to take effect on March 15, 2026, and will not require developers to re-sign any terms.
Apple said it is committed to maintaining a fair and transparent environment for all developers and will consistently offer competitive App Store fees to developers distributing apps in China that are consistent with the general level of fees in other markets. -0-
