Red Wings will launch a new route from Yekaterinburg to Uzbekistan. The first flight to Urgench will depart from Koltsovo Airport on April 14. It will become the second Uzbek city served by the airline from the Ural capital: starting in 2022, it also operates a regular Yekaterinburg-Bukhara flight.

Flights will operate on Russian SSJ-100 aircraft on Tuesdays at 4:30 AM. Travel time will be 2 hours and 50 minutes, allowing residents of the Urals to quickly and comfortably reach one of the most picturesque regions of Central Asia.

The new route opens a direct route to the famous ancient city of Khiva, located near Urgench. Its inner city-fortress, Ichan Kala, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered a monument of medieval architecture.
