Baku, March 12 (Xinhua) — Peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia became possible thanks to strong political will and the recognition that eternal hostility is impossible. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated this Wednesday at the Global Baku Forum, according to a report on the presidential website.

"Less than two years passed from the last bloody clash in September 2023 to the signing of the peace agreement in August 2025. This is an unprecedented speed of normalization," noted I. Aliyev.

The President of Azerbaijan emphasized that peace between the two countries has been achieved not only on paper, but also on the ground. This, he said, is confirmed by practical steps, including the lifting of restrictions on cargo transportation and the commencement of oil product exports to Armenia.
