BEIJING, March 11 (Xinhua) — The closing meeting of the fourth session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Wednesday morning.
Xi Jinping and other party and state leaders, including Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi, and Han Zheng, attended the meeting.
Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee Wang Huning, presiding over the meeting, said that the 4th session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee achieved fruitful results.
He said that all members of the CPPCC National Committee are determined to make greater contributions to advancing China's modernization in the new era and on the new march, and to continuously write new chapters in the annals of the two miracles of China's rapid economic development and long-term social stability.
Noting that 2026 marks the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan, Wang Huning said the CPPCC should uphold the leadership of the Communist Party of China, better play its role as a political organization, actively put forward proposals on state affairs, and pool strength and wisdom to ensure a smooth start to the 15th Five-Year Plan.
Wang Huning called on the CPPCC to put forward more proposals that benefit the people, do more practical work for their well-being, and ensure that the achievements of modernization benefit all the people.
The CPPCC should also help consolidate the powerful positive energy of the sons and daughters of the Chinese nation at home and abroad, so that they can courageously march forward on a new journey and achieve great deeds in the new era, Wang Huning noted.
The meeting adopted resolutions on the work report of the Bureau of the CPPCC National Committee, the report on the handling of proposals submitted since the 3rd session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee, as well as the report on the results of the consideration of proposals submitted at the current session and the political resolution of the 4th session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee. -0-
