Paris, March 11 (Xinhua) — Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing said on Tuesday that China is willing to work with all parties to ensure that nuclear energy brings greater benefits to the development and prosperity of all countries.
Zhang Guoqing, also a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, made the statement at the 2nd International Nuclear Energy Summit in Paris, where he attended as a special representative of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
As the Vice Premier of the State Council noted, China has always adhered to the rational, coordinated and balanced nuclear safety strategy formulated by Xi Jinping, and has made tangible contributions to the global development of nuclear energy.
According to Zhang Guoqing, China is willing to work with all parties to implement the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, and the Global Governance Initiative, to promote the innovative development of nuclear energy, the construction of a security foundation, industrial interaction, and mutually beneficial cooperation, so that nuclear energy can bring greater benefits to the development and prosperity of all countries.
The Vice Prime Minister of China indicated that China is willing to join forces with all parties to make new contributions to building a clean, beautiful and sustainable world and a community with a shared future for mankind.
Heads of state and government or high-level representatives from more than 30 countries, as well as heads of relevant international organizations, attended the event. They issued a joint statement entitled "Safe and Affordable Nuclear Energy for All."
