OTTAWA, March 10 (Xinhua) — Toronto police said on Tuesday they are investigating a shooting incident at the US consulate in Canada's largest city.
A police press release stated that at 5:29 a.m. Tuesday local time, a report was received of shots fired in the direction of the consulate.
Upon arrival at the scene in downtown Toronto, law enforcement officers found evidence of a firearm being fired. Police reported no injuries and added that they had no information about a suspect.
Canada's Minister of Public Safety Gary Anandasangaree called the shooting "absolutely unacceptable" and stressed that Canada will never tolerate intimidation or violence of any kind. –0–
