Beijing, March 10 (Xinhua) — Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) administration has a habit of engaging in separatist activities in the international arena under various guises, including "trade and investment," to achieve "Taiwan independence." Such attempts are doomed to failure, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated on Tuesday.
Guo Jiakun made the statement while commenting on reports that the DPP administration is considering for the first time the possibility of issuing bonds to finance so-called “overseas investment.”
According to a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, the DPP administration, by engaging in separatist activities aimed at achieving "Taiwan independence," is attempting to expand the so-called "international space." These malicious actions are doomed to failure, Guo Jiakun emphasized.
He stated that the vile tricks of the DPP administration cannot in any way change the historical and legal fact of Taiwan's belonging to China, nor can they shake the solid foundation of the international community's commitment to the one-China principle, and even less can they stop the historical process of the complete reunification of the motherland.
