BEIJING, March 9 (Xinhua) — Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday sent a congratulatory message to António José Seguro on his inauguration as President of the Portuguese Republic.
In his message, Xi Jinping noted the deep traditional friendship between China and Portugal.
The Chinese leader said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 47 years ago, the two countries have adhered to the principles of mutual respect and support, properly handled the Macao issue with political wisdom, deepened mutually beneficial cooperation in the spirit of partnership, closely coordinated their actions in international affairs, and bilateral relations have always developed in a healthy and stable manner.
Xi Jinping noted that he attaches great importance to the development of Chinese-Portuguese relations and is willing to work with A.J.
