Istanbul, March 9 (Xinhua) — A missile launched from Iran was successfully intercepted over Turkey's southeastern Gaziantep province, the Turkish Defense Ministry reported on Monday.

In a statement published on the X social network, the ministry said the ballistic missile, which entered Turkish airspace, was neutralized by NATO forces and missile defense systems deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Some of the rocket debris fell into a vacant lot, but the ministry confirmed there were no casualties.
