Beirut, March 8 (Xinhua) — Israel carried out two airstrikes on Sunday afternoon on the Ain el-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon, causing casualties, local media reported.
Established in 1948, Ain el-Hilweh is the largest Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon. An estimated 80,000 to over 100,000 people live in an area of approximately 1.5 square kilometers.
