BEIJING, March 8 (Xinhua) — Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Sunday that building a system to ensure the safety of all compatriots abroad is the unremitting pursuit of Chinese diplomats in the new era.
Last year, China resolutely protected the legitimate and lawful interests of Chinese enterprises operating overseas and called on host governments to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens and projects, Wang Yi said at a press conference on the sidelines of the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) in Beijing.
He added that China also resolutely opposed the unreasonable suppression of Chinese enterprises and helped them strengthen their ability to prevent risks and protect their own interests through legal means.
