BEIJING, March 8 (Xinhua) — Diversity and interdependence are the true nature of human society, while multipolarity and coexistence are the proper international order, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Sunday at a press conference on the sidelines of the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) in Beijing.

China and the United States certainly exert significant influence on the world, but there are more than 190 countries on the planet, Wang Yi said. "The future of humanity is always created through the collective efforts of the peoples of all countries," he noted.

"China will absolutely not follow the path of hegemony paved by other powers and does not accept the logic of 'great power co-governance,'" Wang Yi said, adding that China is committed to the path of peaceful development.

As for how the world order should develop, China's proposal is to build an equal and orderly multipolar world, he said. "This should be the shared responsibility of all countries."

According to him, great powers, possessing greater resources and potential than anyone else, must demonstrate a broad spirit and a sense of responsibility and set an example in observing rules, keeping one's word, and respecting the rule of law.

China will continue to play a constructive role in the changing world and work together with all countries to build a multipolar world, Wang Yi added. -0-
