Washington, March 6 (Xinhua) — CNN, based on satellite imagery, has concluded that five US radar stations were targeted by Iran or its allies since the US-Israeli attacks began a week ago. This was reported on Friday.
A satellite image taken Sunday shows smoke rising from a radar station near Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, where dozens of American military aircraft are stationed, journalists reported. The tent, previously used to shelter the radar system of a nearby Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile defense system, is heavily burned, with debris scattered around.
It is one of five radar sites that CNN has found were hit by Iran or its allies.
According to the TV channel, four of these sites housed radars from THAAD batteries used to intercept ballistic missiles. –0–
