BEIJING, March 7 (Xinhua) — The All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) held a reception in Beijing on Friday to mark International Women's Day, which falls on March 8.
State Councilor Shen Yiqin, also the Chair of the All-China Women's Federation, spoke at the event. She stated that during China's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), hundreds of millions of Chinese women will contribute wisdom and strength to the great cause of building a powerful state and promoting national rejuvenation.
Noting that the current international situation is intertwined with change and chaos, Shen Yiqin said China is willing to work with all parties to fully implement the spirit of the Global Women's Summit, deepen exchanges and cooperation, and make new contributions to the global development of women's affairs and the progress of human civilization.
The event was attended by more than 1,000 guests, including officials from relevant central Party and government organs, female NPC deputies and CPPCC National Committee members participating in the "two sessions," representatives of various ethnic groups and social circles, as well as the Hong Kong and Macao SARs, members of the diplomatic corps, and representatives of international organizations.
Following the reception, participants visited an exhibition showcasing China's progress in using digital and smart technologies to empower women and girls. -0-
