ISTANBUL, March 6 (Xinhua) — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in Ankara on Thursday that tensions in the Middle East have reached alarming levels following airstrikes on Iran and vowed to step up diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.
According to him, the situation in the region became extremely frightening after the strikes, which killed hundreds of civilians, including innocent children.
Türkiye will continue to vigilantly protect its borders and airspace, he emphasized. "If a threat to our country's security arises, we will take all necessary measures in coordination with our allies," the president said.
