Moscow, March 5 (Xinhua) — Chinese-Russian practical cooperation is making steady progress, demonstrating a stable volume and continuous improvement in quality. This was stated by Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui in an opinion piece published in the newspaper Argumenty i Fakty on March 4.
"In 2025, bilateral trade between China and Russia reached USD 228.1 billion, exceeding the USD 200 billion mark for the third consecutive year. This demonstrates the solid foundation and strong resilience of cooperation between the two countries," Zhang Hanhui wrote in his article.
China's sustainable development and the openness of its economy are opening up new opportunities for the world, the Chinese diplomat noted.
"The fundamental trend of the long-term positive development of the Chinese economy will not change, and China's high-quality development and higher-level opening up will open up new opportunities for the world," Zhang Hanhui emphasized.
According to the ambassador, the current year, 2026, will be the first year of China's 15th Five-Year Plan, and also "a key year for Russia in advancing national development goals for the period up to 2030."
"China is ready to work hand in hand with Russia, continuously deepen practical cooperation in all areas, jointly write a new chapter of mutually beneficial cooperation between major powers, and make a major Sino-Russian contribution to advancing the building of a community with a shared future for mankind," the Chinese diplomat added.
