Beijing, March 5 (Xinhua) — China will vigorously stimulate consumption and implement a program to increase incomes for both urban and rural residents, according to a government work report submitted Thursday to the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress.
According to the report, it is necessary to develop and implement a program to increase the income of the urban and rural population, and to introduce a package of practically feasible measures in such areas as promoting an increase in the income of low-income groups, increasing property income, improving the wage system and the social insurance system.
It is planned to issue 250 billion yuan (approximately $36.17 billion) of ultra-long-term special government bonds to support the implementation of the trade-in program for consumer goods. It is also planned to allocate 100 billion yuan in targeted funds to stimulate domestic demand expansion through the interaction of fiscal and financial policies.
