BEIJING, March 5 (Xinhua) — The People's Liberation Army (PLA) and People's Armed Police Force (PAP) deputy group held small group meetings to review the government work report at the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) on Thursday.
One of the meetings was attended by Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and NPC deputy Zhang Shengmin.
He called on the military to strengthen unity and belief in Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and consistently implement Xi Jinping Thought on Strengthening the Military.
According to Zhang Shengmin, the armed forces must strictly adhere to the system in which the highest responsibility is vested in the CMC Chairman, deepen political training, improve conduct, combat corruption, and continuously strengthen the political foundation of loyalty to CMC Chairman Xi Jinping and unwaveringly carry out his orders.
Zhang Shengmin also noted the need to comprehensively strengthen military training and combat readiness, as well as resolutely protect the country's sovereignty, security, and development interests.
