Accra, March 4 (Xinhua) — At least 16 people were killed in a road accident in Ghana's Ashanti Region on Tuesday, local media reported.
According to reports, a head-on collision occurred between an ambulance, whose driver attempted to overtake another vehicle, and a Ford Transit bus in Potrichrom.
Local traffic and transport officials transported the bodies of the victims to nearby morgues. Ghanaian authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
Ashanti Regional Minister Frank Amoakohene confirmed the crash on Facebook and offered his condolences to the families of the victims.
