Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova attended a meeting of the Rosarkhiv Board, where the agency's work over the past year was summarized and plans for 2026 were outlined. Rosarkhiv Director Andrei Artizov presented a report on the activities of the Russian archival industry.

"The domestic archival industry today comprises nearly 2,500 state and municipal archives, hundreds of departmental archives, and tens of thousands of organizational archives. All of them play a vital role in public administration, social and humanitarian affairs, scientific research, and education. One of the most important tasks you perform is preserving national memory and passing on traditional Russian spiritual and moral values from generation to generation," Tatyana Golikova said in her opening remarks.

She noted the extensive work of Russian archivists in providing information support for the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, and, above all, the historical and documentary exhibition "Without the Right to Be Forgotten" at the State Historical Museum, which was visited by more than 140,000 people from 25 countries.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the need to continue efforts to preserve the memory of our country's glorious and heroic past, focusing on countering attempts to falsify the history of the Great Patriotic War, and objectively presenting the war crimes committed by the Nazis and their collaborators, based on archival documents and historical research, actively utilizing the full potential of modern technology for a broad public audience, especially young people. It is also important to ensure the documented preservation of the memory of those who participated in the special military operation.

"President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin has declared 2026 the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. Its main goal is to strengthen national unity, peace, and harmony among all the peoples of our multinational country. Archives, serving as a link between the past, present, and future, preserve the continuity of traditions, knowledge, and values, helping people recognize their belonging to family, nation, and country," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

Speaking about the agency's progress, Tatyana Golikova noted that the transition to electronic interaction between archives and users has been completed. "The majority of citizens' requests related to their pension provision were processed through a unified digital platform for social services. This has significantly improved the quality and efficiency of pension services. Since January 2024, state and municipal archives have processed approximately 5 million social and legal requests received from territorial offices of the Social Fund of Russia. I would like to thank my colleagues for such proactive work and ask them to maintain this momentum," she said.

Furthermore, an electronic service for remote access to archival documents was launched in 2025. "Now it allows not only searching for archival information but also viewing digitized images of nearly 80,000 federal archive files. This work must continue. We must expand the functionality of the state information system to allow for online ordering of electronic copies of archival files. We must expedite the development of regional archives' connection to the service. It is also important for us to continue digitizing archival documents and placing them in the information system in 2026. We must continue to inform our citizens about the availability of this service, how to use it, and the benefits it provides," the Deputy Prime Minister said.

Tatyana Golikova emphasized that another priority is ensuring the safety and state registration of documents in our country's Archival Fund, which contains over 570 million items. In this regard, special attention must be paid to the systematic modernization of fire safety systems and anti-terrorism protection at facilities housing federal archives.

In conclusion, Tatyana Golikova congratulated all industry workers on the upcoming Archives Day and expressed gratitude to all Russian archivists for their professional and responsible approach to their work.
