Moscow, March 1 (Xinhua) — Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a telephone conversation on Sunday with United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Russian Foreign Ministry announced this on Sunday.
"The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized the unacceptability of the actions of the United States and Israel, which unleashed unprovoked aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran," reads a statement published on the Russian ministry's website.
It is noted that the heads of the foreign policy departments of Russia and the UAE "emphasized the destabilizing nature of the military escalation in the region, which poses a security threat to the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf." They also "expressed a unanimous opinion on the need to immediately cease all military actions and return the situation to a political and diplomatic framework, taking into account the legitimate interests of all regional countries."
