Baku, March 1 /Xinhua/ — Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a telephone conversation on Sunday to discuss the escalating tensions in the Middle East.
According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, the main topic of the conversation was the military clashes of recent days and the tense security situation in the region.
The parties expressed deep concern about the current situation and noted that the ongoing military escalation poses serious risks to regional stability. They emphasized the need to uphold the norms and principles of international law and resolve the conflict through dialogue and political means.
The foreign ministers of the two countries emphasized that ensuring the safety of the civilian population and civilian objects is a priority for the conflicting parties.
