Bishkek, February 27 (Xinhua) — Kyrgyzstan's economy has nearly tripled over the past five years, which can be considered a significant achievement. This was announced here on Friday by President Sadyr Japarov at a national meeting on socioeconomic development results in 2025 and plans for the coming years.

In 2020, Kyrgyzstan's GDP was $8.3 billion, and by the end of 2025, it will exceed $22.6 billion. "Therefore, we can confidently call this a significant achievement and noticeable growth," noted S. Japarov.

According to him, over the past five years, tax revenues have increased approximately fourfold, customs duties sixfold, and non-tax revenues almost ninefold. The consolidated budget in 2025 has grown 3.5 times compared to the 2021 figure.

The President also stated that over the past four years, the country's average annual real economic growth rate has been 10.2 percent. International reserves have exceeded $10 billion for the first time.

S. Japarov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan must become a strong, competitive, and socially sustainable state in the coming years. "By 2030, we have set ourselves specific goals: to increase the gross domestic product per capita to $4,500 and to ensure the total economic output of at least $30 billion," he stated.
