Tbilisi, February 27 (Xinhua) — Georgia's real gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 7.9 percent in January 2026, according to preliminary data, compared to the same period last year, the country's National Statistics Office reported on Friday.

The agency's report notes that information and communications technology, financial and insurance activities, mining, and the hotel and restaurant industries made a significant contribution to the increase in economic activity.
