TIANJIN, February 26 (Xinhua) — Foreign trade in northern China's Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region has increased by 25.7 percent since the coordinated development strategy for the region was launched 12 years ago, according to data released Thursday by the Tianjin Municipal Customs Administration.
The total value of imports and exports of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region rose from 3.74 trillion yuan (about 540.2 billion US dollars) in 2014 to 4.7 trillion yuan in 2025, demonstrating sustainable growth driven by regional integration.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), the average annual import and export volume consistently exceeded 4 trillion yuan. In 2025, exports reached a record high of 1.45 trillion yuan, an increase of 56.9 percent compared to 2014, with automobile exports increasing sixfold to 90.97 billion yuan.
The foreign trade turnover of private enterprises from 2014 to 2025 demonstrated growth of 167.8%.
Since 2014, the region's trade with the European Union and ASEAN countries has grown significantly, while trade with Belt and Road Initiative partner countries has increased by 29 percent.
