BEIJING, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) — China's civil aviation handled 22.05 million passenger trips during the Spring Festival holiday, up 7.7 percent from the same period in 2025, according to the latest data from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

During the nine-day holiday that ended on February 23, Chinese airlines operated an average of 18,956 flights per day, up 4.4 percent year-on-year.

In 2026, Spring Festival fell on February 17, traditionally an occasion for family gatherings and tourist trips. This year, the holiday lasted a record nine days, further stimulating demand for transportation services.

According to the Ministry of Transport of China, between February 15 and 23, Chinese residents made more than 2.8 billion trips. -0-
