UNITED NATIONS, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) — The UN General Assembly on Tuesday adopted a resolution on the Ukraine crisis, calling for an "immediate and unconditional ceasefire" and a "comprehensive, just and lasting peace."

A draft resolution prepared by Ukraine and several European countries was adopted at the 11th Emergency Special Session of the General Assembly. The document was supported by 107 countries, 12 voted against, and 51 abstained. The vote took place on the fourth anniversary of the outbreak of the Ukrainian crisis.

The United States was among the countries that abstained from voting, while Russia voted against.

The document reaffirms commitment to the "sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders." The resolution is not legally binding.
