URUMQI, February 23 (Xinhua) — No deaths or injuries have been reported so far from the 5.1-magnitude earthquake that struck Yuli County in Bayan Gol Mongol Autonomous Prefecture of Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, local authorities said.

According to the China Earthquake Network Center, the earthquake occurred at 12:12 PM on Monday. The epicenter was located at a depth of 15 kilometers and was located at 40.88 degrees north latitude and 84.17 degrees east longitude.

According to county authorities, the tremors were felt quite strongly in the area. Emergency response and firefighting services were dispatched to the quake zone shortly after the earthquake.
