KATHMANDU, February 23 (Xinhua) — Eighteen people, including a foreigner, were killed when a passenger bus plunged into a river in Dhading district in central Nepal on Monday, local authorities said.
The bus, traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu, veered off the highway and fell into the Trishuli River. There were 45 people on board.
The Chinese Embassy in Nepal confirmed that one Chinese citizen is missing and another was injured in the accident. The injured citizen is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
“Most of the 27 injured were sent to hospitals in Kathmandu for further treatment after receiving initial treatment at a local hospital,” said district administration official Mohan Prasad Neupane. –0–
