Bishkek, February 23 (Xinhua) — Kyrgyzstan has seen a rapid increase in the number of electric vehicles over the past few years, according to data published Monday on the website of the country's Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision.
As noted, 1,113 electric vehicles were registered in Kyrgyzstan in 2022, and by the end of 2025, there would already be 15,278 units of this type of vehicle, which represents 0.8 percent of the total number of vehicles in the country.
The agency added that more than 100 electric charging stations have been installed in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, which is contributing to the development of infrastructure for environmentally friendly transport and stimulating the growth of electric vehicles.
As of January 1, 2026, the total number of registered vehicles in the country amounted to more than 1.9 million units, which is 13 percent more than the figure recorded in 2024. –0–
