Islamabad, February 22 (Xinhua) — At least one person was killed and four others were injured in a gas explosion in Pakistan's southern Sindh province on Sunday morning, the government's 1122 Rescue Service reported.

The incident occurred in a residential building in Karachi, the capital of Sindh province. A gas cylinder reportedly exploded, causing a fire.

Rescue teams quickly brought the fire under control and conducted a cooling operation and search for victims. The victims were given first aid at the scene and then transported to a nearby hospital.
