Washington, February 21 (Xinhua) — The U.S. military struck a suspected drug-smuggling vessel in the eastern Pacific Ocean on Friday, killing three men on board, U.S. Southern Command reported on the social media platform X.
"Intelligence confirmed that the vessel was following known drug trafficking routes in the eastern Pacific Ocean and was involved in drug trafficking operations," the military said, without providing any evidence.
It is noted that the American side did not suffer any losses.
According to Fox News, the Pentagon has carried out at least 43 strikes on suspected drug-smuggling vessels in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific, killing at least 148 people. –0–
