Beirut, February 21 /Xinhua/ – Eleven people were killed, including three Lebanese Hezbollah commanders, and eight others were injured in a series of Israeli airstrikes in eastern Lebanon on Friday, according to official sources and Lebanese security forces.
More than 10 people were killed and over 30 injured in an airstrike on a building in the east of the country, Lebanon's National News Agency reported.
A source told Xinhua that the death toll had risen to 11, with another 35 people injured, adding that a search for the missing was currently underway.
Informed security sources told Xinhua that three Hezbollah commanders were among the dead: Hussein Yaghi, Ali Zeid al-Musawi, and Ibrahim al-Musawi.
Lebanese security sources told Xinhua that Israeli aircraft carried out six airstrikes on areas in the east of the country, including Hezbollah targets.
A ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel has been in effect since November 27, 2024. Despite this, the Israeli army occasionally launches strikes on Lebanon.
