BEIJING, February 21 (Xinhua) — Digital transformation in China's manufacturing sector has entered the large-scale implementation stage, with the vast majority of large industrial enterprises having completed digital transformation, according to a report published by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT).

According to a CAICT report, the scope of digital transformation in the manufacturing industry has expanded significantly, indicating a shift towards its large-scale implementation.

As of December 2025, 89.6% of large industrial enterprises had undergone digital transformation, with this process proceeding at a particularly rapid pace in the automotive, shipbuilding, and electronic information production industries, where the shares of the corresponding economic entities reached 94.4%, 94.2%, and 93.9%, respectively.

The report notes that China should further accelerate its digital adoption by aligning transformation efforts with the operational needs of enterprises and broader industrial transformation goals. The document also calls for increased support in fundamental areas such as standardization and infrastructure development.
