Astana, February 21 (Xinhua) — Kazakhstan and Russia are conducting a scheduled joint air defense exercise as part of the Unified Regional Air Defense System. This was reported on Saturday by the Kazinform news agency, citing the Kazakh Ministry of Defense.

According to the department, the training will run from February 20 to March 10, 2026. The event will include practicing tasks such as detecting and tracking aerial targets, intercepting aircraft violating airspace, and forcing them to land at designated airfields.

As the ministry noted, the training is planned and aimed at improving the level of interaction, combat training, and readiness of the air defense forces on duty.
