Specialists urban economy complex Snow is being removed from roads and sidewalks, and de-icing is being carried out. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing, Utilities, and Public Works Petr Biryukov.
"We're conducting another comprehensive mechanized sweep of the roadways, main thoroughfares, and pedestrian areas, followed by de-icing. We'll repeat the work cycle depending on the weather conditions. All city services continue to operate in an enhanced mode, with emergency crews from engineering companies and district prefectures on duty around the clock," said Pyotr Biryukov.
Forecasters predict snowfall will continue until Friday, February 20. The heaviest precipitation is expected during the day on February 19. It will be accompanied by strong winds with gusts of up to 15-17 meters per second. This could lead to snowdrifts on the roads.
Residents are asked to exercise caution on sidewalks and roads during snowfall and, if possible, to avoid driving their own vehicles.
