On February 19, with the support of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China, the capital will host "Education Day on Manezhnaya Square." It will be part of the "Chinese New Year in Moscow" festival as part of the project Winter in MoscowFrom 11:00 AM to 8:30 PM, residents and visitors to the capital will be able to learn about educational opportunities and international programs at leading Chinese universities, as well as attend master classes by students from China on traditional calligraphy and painting.
Guests will see presentations and have the opportunity to participate in a prize draw from Chongqing University, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hunan Normal University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, and others.
Participants in the master classes will learn to write the character for "happiness," make traditional Chinese lanterns, and become familiar with the art of the tea ceremony.
Additionally, Chinese students from Lomonosov Moscow State University will help participants try on traditional Hanfu clothing. Students from the International Center for Professional Education will teach how to write New Year's wishes. The "Created in Moscow" creative group will present the fairy tale "The Magic Picture" and the play "New Year's Turmoil." Chinese students from the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music will put on a festive concert.

This year, the Russian and Chinese capitals will host the joint festivals "Chinese New Year in Moscow" and "Moscow Maslenitsa in Beijing." In Moscow, the events will span 60 venues. Over 100 artists and other creative figures from China will participate in the festival.
In 2025, the festival was attended by approximately 1.5 million residents and visitors to the capital—twice as many as in 2024. Its events were covered by media outlets in 31 countries.
