Cairo, February 16 (Xinhua) — The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) naval forces have begun exercises in the Strait of Hormuz, the semi-official Iranian news agency Tasnim reported on Monday.
The main objectives of the exercises are to “assess the readiness of the IRGC naval units, review security plans and possible scenarios for mutual military response in the face of security and military threats in the strait area, and wisely utilize Iran’s geopolitical advantages in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman,” the statement said. –0–
