Guiyang, February 16 (Xinhua) — On Sunday, the first freight train in Guizhou Province since 2026 was launched as part of the China-Europe international rail freight service from Guiyang, capital of Guizhou Province, southwest China. The train, carrying 55 standard container units (TEUs) loaded with new energy vehicles and locally produced auto parts, will arrive in Belarus.
The train, loaded with more than 2,000 tons of goods worth over 24.9 million yuan (approximately 3.6 million US dollars), is expected to arrive in the Minsk region in 15 days, crossing the state border through the Alashankou checkpoint (Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Northwest China).
The local subsidiary of Chinese automaker Geely reported that this train will reduce the transportation time of goods exported to Central Europe by at least 10 days and save almost 10 million yuan per year. -0-
