Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev held a meeting on the implementation of the Moscow-St. Petersburg high-speed railway (HSR) construction project. The event included a teleconference with the Ural Locomotives plant in Verkhnyaya Pyshma, where the welding of the bodies of two carriages for the first Russian-built high-speed train was completed.
"All eight carriages of the first train will be assembled by the end of the year. Two rolling stock prototypes will be sent for testing in 2027. The testing site will be the section of the route from Zelenograd to Tver. Construction and installation work is actively underway there," noted Vitaly Savelyev.
By the end of 2028, 28 electric trains will be in service on the Moscow–St. Petersburg highway. By 2030, this number will increase to 43.
During a teleconference, Sinara Group CEO Viktor Lesh described the progress of organizing serial production of trains.
Vitaly Savelyev thanked the Ural Locomotives plant team for their professional work. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining the pace of work to ensure the launch of service on the first high-speed rail line by the President's deadline of 2028.
