Cairo, February 12 (Xinhua) — At least three migrants died when a boat carrying 45 migrants sank in the Aegean Sea on Thursday, the Turkish Coast Guard said in a statement.
The incident occurred at around 05:33 local time /02:33 GMT/ off the coast of Izmir province in western Turkey, the statement said.
According to available reports, 38 migrants on board have been rescued so far. The search and rescue operation for the remaining four missing persons is ongoing.
