BEIJING, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) — The average daily passenger flow across China's border is expected to increase by 14.1 percent year-on-year to 2.05 million during the upcoming Spring Festival (Lunar New Year) holiday, according to forecasts from the National Administration of Immigration (NAM).

The agency noted that, thanks to the visa-free policy and measures to stimulate consumption, the country expects an increase in both inbound and outbound tourism during the nine-day holiday, which begins on Sunday.

The department added that during the holiday period, the presence of staff on the ground will be increased and sufficient police forces will be deployed to ensure safe, efficient and smooth border control. -0-
