BEIJING, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) — Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended Chinese Lunar New Year (Chinese New Year) greetings on Wednesday to representatives of Chinese democratic parties, the China Association of Industry and Commerce (CAIC), non-party figures and other members of the united front.

Xi Jinping, who is also China's president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, offered his congratulations during a meeting with non-CPC officials at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

In his keynote speech at the event, Xi Jinping noted that 2025 was a truly extraordinary year. He stated that amid profound and complex changes at home and abroad, the CPC Central Committee united and led the entire Party and the Chinese people of all ethnicities, moving forward, overcoming difficulties, and exerting every effort to successfully achieve the key goals and objectives of socioeconomic development.

The Chinese leader pointed out that the results achieved were not achieved easily, but were the result of the CPC's firm leadership and the joint efforts of all the multi-ethnic people of China, including democratic parties, the Communist Party of China (CPC), and non-party figures.

Recalling that 2026 marks the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan, he expressed hope that democratic parties, the APWP and non-party figures will actively fulfill their duties and focus on implementing the decisions and orders of the CPC Central Committee.
