BEIJING, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) — Song Tao, director of the Office of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee for Work with Taiwan and the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, congratulated Taiwan compatriots on the upcoming Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) and reaffirmed mainland China's commitment to advancing economic cooperation and integrated development across the Taiwan Strait.
Song Tao made the announcement on Wednesday at events to celebrate the Spring Festival, attended by representatives from both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
The events took place in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, East China, and were attended by more than 200 people, including representatives of Taiwan's business community.
According to Song Tao, during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), the Chinese mainland will provide Taiwanese enterprises with ample opportunities to establish roots and develop on the mainland, so as to further boost economic cooperation and integrated development between the two shores.
Song Tao expressed hope that Taiwanese compatriots will resolutely oppose "Taiwan independence," promote national reunification, and adhere to the correct direction for the development of cross-Straits relations.
During the events, Taiwanese entrepreneurs and other compatriots expressed gratitude to the mainland for its long-standing care and attention. –0–
