Mexico City, February 9 (Xinhua) — Mexico will continue to provide humanitarian aid to Cuba despite U.S. sanctions against countries that trade with the Caribbean nation or supply it with oil, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced at her daily press conference on Monday.
"There will be more support. The Mexican people always stand in solidarity. No one can ignore the situation the Cuban people are currently living in due to the sanctions imposed by the United States," noted K. Sheinbaum.
The Mexican President called on the United States and the international community to recognize that sanctions are unfair to the Cuban people.
Mexico recently sent two warships to Cuba with 814 tons of food supplies. –0–
